Brune/Blonde – An art and film exhibition at the Cinémathèque Française
Posted on 5.10.2010

Through its subjects’ hair, this exhibition invites visitors to discover how films have traditionally represented brunettes (Louise Brooks, Penélope Cruz, etc.), blondes (Brigitte Bardot, Marilyn Monroe, etc.) and redheads (Rita Hayworth, Isabelle Huppert, etc.) in settings combining desire, fetishism and rivalry. The exhibition looks at the close relationship between fashion, the 7th art and the works of Picasso, Rodin, Warhol and Man Ray, all of whom are artists who have immortalised feminine grace in their works.
