Gotan Object – The world of Gotan Project in a box (Ya Basta! Records)
Handle with care – this box set knows nothing of moderation. Beneath the tar-stained casing lies a double live CD of both the La Revancha del Tango and Lunático tours, a fabulous 160 page photography book, Carnet de viajes, accompanied by the DVD Visiones – image-maker Prisca Lobjoy’s live visuals which where projected during the concerts and the photos that she gathered throughout the tour, plus an exclusive poster. And lest we forget, there’s the 7” Inch Vinyl EP that resulted from Gotan Project’s return to their roots: their two greatest successes, Santa María (del Buen Ayre) and Diferente, done like they did it in the golden age; both tracks have been recreated entirely acoustically and in keeping with the original, traditional tango of 1950s Argentina. Coming full circle, the pioneers of electro-tango are aspiring to leave their imprint on the future of Argentinian music, and they know just what they owe to the history which precedes them.

Artekin huutokauppa
Artekin valikoimassa olevia klassikoita huutokaupataan Wentzel Hagelstamin johdolla Espan myymälässä sunnuntaina 30. marraskuuta ja sunnuntaina 14. joulukuuta klo 15-16. Tapahtuman tuotot luovutetaan stipendinä lupaaville nuorille muotoilijoille Habitare-messujen aikana syyskuussa 2009. Huutokaupattavat tuotteet ovat etukäteen esillä Artekin Espan ikkunoissa.

Originals is series of compilations put together by un-sung heroes in the music world, the discoverers, the people behind the people, the influencers and the taste makers who don’t seek the limelight and often get overlooked. The first of the series takes us to Manchester where Moonboots and Balearic Mike expose their extensive musical repertoire, uncovering unknown gems and exclusive new tracks from the depths of their well thumbed and well loved record collections. Taideteollisen korkeakoulun ylioppilaskunta TOKYOn perinteiset joulumyyjäiset järjestetään Taikissa Mediakeskus Lumeen Galleriassa ja ala-aulassa 29.11.-01.12.2008 klo 9-18. Taideteollisen korkeakoulun opiskelijat myyvät joulumyyjäisissä taidettaan ja töitään. Myyjiä on tänä vuonna yli 50 ja myynnissä on muun muassa koruja, vaatteita, laukkuja, sarjakuvia, valokuvia ja kaikenlaista taidetta.

Ed Templeton: Deformer (Damiani, 2008)
Eleven years in the making and compiling more than thirty years worth of material: Ed Templeton’s Deformer, a multi-media scrapbook of his upbringing in suburban Orange County, California. This beautifully designed volume, entirely art-directed by Ed Templeton himself, is sure to be a major work. Its photographs give a sun-drenched glimpse of what it might be like to be young and alive in what Templeton refers to as “the suburban domestic incubator”. Deformer intertwines photographs, paintings, drawings, sketchbook pages, disciplinary letters from his grandfather and religious notes from his mother into a magnificent narrative of teenage isolation and social criticism. Deformer is also available in a boxed limited edition of 200 hardback copies, with a photograph numbered and signed by Templeton.
