S-Tone Inc.: Luz Y Sombra (Schema)
Three years after Sobrenatural and after 2004′s production of the Brazilian artist Toco, S-Tone Inc. (Stefano Tirone) releases his fourth album that is the natural evolution from the previous works but with a more acoustic and intimate approach than in the past. The title Luz Y Sombra represents the dualism that one can find also in music, which is in fact made of light and shadow, of solar tracks and of introspective, nocturnal compositions. Part of the inspiration derives as always from Brazilian music but also from the vocal jazz of the 50′s and the record alternates reflexive moments that evocate smoky jazz dens to more rhythmical moments that are projected in contemporaneity of the clubs where the 4/4 bass drum mingles with the melody of vocals and brass. Several musicians from the Milan jazz scene, among whom five Brazilians, took part to the recordings and a rhythm section of double bass and drums is present in all the tracks. Q!
Q! is a ultra modern boutique hotel located in the Kurfürstendamm area of West Berlin, 300 metres from the Savignyplatz with its restaurants and bars, and one kilometre from the Zoological Gardens. The 77 stylish guestrooms resemble futuristic cocoons, and use materials including slate, wood, and imitation ostrich leather. Federico Aubele & Faces Etnofestival 29.-31.7.2005 Billnäs
Kahdeksas Faces Etnofestival järjestetään tänä vuonna jälleen Billnäsin ruukkialueella. Argentiinalaista nutangoa soittava, Federico Aubele esiintyy sekstettinsä kanssa festivaalin lauantaissa. Hänen musiikissaan argentiinalainen tango, flamenco, reggae, dub ja groove sulautuvat yhteen ehdottoman tyylikkääksi kokonaisuudeksi. Suuri vaikuttaja artistille on ollut hänen maanmiehensä Astor Piazzolla. Soolouransa alussa kitaraa soittanut Aubele löysi instrumentaali-kappaleilleen tulkitsijaksi Buenos Airesista kotoisin olevan naislaulajan, jonka kanssa hän aloitti yhteistyön. Tuloksena oli espanjankielisen debyytti-albumin Gran Hotel Buenos Aires julkaiseminen vuonna 2004. Musiikin ohella festivaaleilla on tarjolla myös muun muassa tanssia, teatteria, elokuvia, sirkusta, runoutta, keskustelutilaisuuksia ja taidenäyttelyitä.
